Distillation of Benzinum Medicinale
Diana 700 is equipped with a new method to determine the distillation range of liquids as described in the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.). This new test method requires only 50 mL of sample and greatly simplifies testing for compliance with specifications by monitoring and maintaining important distillation parameters.
Most industry standards for the distillation of liquids (e.g. ASTM D86) have adopted the use of automated devices. The determination of the distillation range according to Ph. Eur., however, has still to be performed manually, rendering this test method time-consuming, prone to errors and difficult to conform with audit trail practices. This application report demonstrates how the Diana 700 can be used for the automated characterization of Benzinum Medicinale and related liquids.
