High Temperature Powder Shear Cell
Relevant for: MCR, CTD 1000, High-Temperature Powder Rheology, Ceramics, Sintering Process, Dynamic Image Analysis
Together with the convection temperature device (CTD 1000), the high-temperature Powder Shear Cell (PSC) offers the possibility of characterizing powder samples at temperatures of up to 980 °C. The setup is therefore ideal for investigating high-temperature processes such as sintering of ceramic materials. This application report focuses on studying the sintering process of barium carbonate using powder rheology, which is additionally supported by dynamic image analysis (DIA) of the powders to gain a better understanding of the effects of particle aggregation on powder characteristics.
