Mechanical Surface Characterization Seminar
For Anton Paar TriTec’s 10th anniversary, we are hosting the Mechanical Surface Characterization Seminar from September 19 to September 20, 2023, in Neuchâtel, Switzerland.
An excellent venue to discuss new trends and applications, this seminar will bring together leading experts from the field of mechanical surface characterization who focus on nanoindentation, tribology, and scratch testing. Anton Paar TriTec experts will also be on hand, which will give you the opportunity to learn more about our instruments and the latest developments of our products.
The seminar will also be a place to hear talks on a range of issues, including:
- Hardness and other mechanical properties assessment
- Measurement of deformations and stresses
- Time-dependent properties, regardless of material type
- Tribological and wear investigation
- Adhesion and/or scratch resistance measurements
If you would like to give a talk, download the abstract template here and submit it through the registration form.
Speaker guidelines
- Regular talk: 20 minutes + 5 minutes for questions
- Invited speaker: 40 minutes + 5 minutes for questions

Advanced Workshops: Instrumented Indentation, Scratch and Tribology
September 18, 2023
On September 18, there will be two half-day, advanced workshops that take place a day before the MSC Seminar kicks off. Located at Anton Paar TriTec in Corcelles, these will be held in the afternoon and followed by a light meal for the participants.
Advanced Workshop on Instrumented Indentation
Learn how to deal with more challenging samples (e.g., small or soft samples), how this measurement method works, and how to optimize it (large matrix and dynamic indentation measurements).
Advanced Workshop on Scratch and Tribology
Learn how testing parameters such as sliding speed and contact pressure influence friction coefficient and wear results. Find out how to evaluate scratch resistance and optimize test parameters for thin coating adhesion testing.
