1) Partie I : Chimisorption avec Dr. Benjamin Le Monier (9h45 – 12h30) - Français


Dr. Ben Le Monnier a effectué son DUT, sa licence et son master en France avant de poursuivre une thèse à l’EPFL, au sein du laboratoire du Pr Jeremy Luterbacher. Il y a notamment travaillé sur l’utilisation de la déposition par couche atomique pour la synthèse de catalyseurs hétérogènes. Il est ensuite parti aux États-Unis, où il a rejoint le groupe du Pr Michael Tsapatsis pour travailler sur la synthèse et la caractérisation de zéolites 2D. Il a finalement rejoint Anton Paar QuantaTec, en Floride, il y a deux ans, en tant qu’expert en chimisorption, où il intervient comme conseiller technique.
Principes fondamentaux de la chimisorption

  • Bases de la chimie de surface et les sondes moléculaires les plus utilisées
  • Analyses isothermes et programmées en température
  • Caractérisation approfondie et avancée des catalyseurs
  • Exemples d’analyses sur des échantillons réels

2) Partie II : High Pressure Gas Adsorption (14h – 16h30) – English

Dr. Robin Isyas is the Global Product Manager for High-Pressure Gas Sorption and Physisorption Instruments at Anton Paar QuantaTec, where he plays a key role in advancing green energy technologies through cutting-edge material characterization solutions. He holds a Ph.D. in Spectroscopy, with a specialized background in new drug development and novel chemical entities (NCEs). Based at Anton Paar QuantaTec’s headquarters in Boynton Beach, Florida, Robin leads global product strategy, customer engagement, and application development for next-generation gas sorption platforms used in both academic and industrial R&D.

  • Characterizing hydrogen storage performance in advanced materials
  • Isotherms, total and excess uptake, PCT Curves, kinetics, adsorption capacity
  • Isothermal and temperature-programmed measurements
  • Practical aspects of the instrument operation

Robin Isyas

Dr. Robin Isyas is the Global Product Manager at Anton Paar and is based in Boynton Beach Florida USA. He has a diverse experience of 20 years in the industry. After his Ph.D. in UV Vis Spectroscopy, he worked as a research scientist in the Pharmaceutical industry. With a successful stint in research, he moved to the Analytical instrumentation industry where he held multiple leadership roles in Sales, Marketing, and Product Management. In his current role as Global Product Manager, he is responsible for developing new technologies in the field of Surface Area and Pores by working in collaboration with different industries like Pharmaceuticals, Cement, Food, Cosmetics, EV Battery, Carbon, Catalyst etc.

Benjamin P. Le Monnier

Benjamin P. Le Monnier has a technical university diploma from University Joseph Fourrier (Grenoble, France), a bachelor and master of science from Sorbonne University (Paris, France) and a PhD of chemistry and chemical engineering from Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne -EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland). He joined the group of Prof. Tsapatsis at Johns Hopkins University as post doc before joining Anton Paar QuantaTec as an application scientist.
