Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics | Quality control of caffeine tablets using Lyza 7000 and Pike EasiDiff
Quality control of solid samples containing low concentrations of active ingredients requires fast and reliable methods. DRIFTS enables the analysis of such materials. Using the Lyza 7000 and Pike EasiDiff, a caffeine tablet was verified as a representative example for efficient FTIR-based quality control.
Diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier-transform spectroscopy (DRIFTS) enables the direct analysis of powdered materials without the need for extensive sample preparation. In this application report, the verification of a commercial caffeine tablet is presented as an example for demonstrating the capabilities of the Lyza 7000 FTIR spectrometer equipped with a Pike EasiDiff DRIFTS accessory.
