Multiparameter Measurement System:
Jet Fuel Measurement Systems
- Viscosity and refractive index measurement in one system
- Simultaneous results via a single interface
- Maximum cost efficiency and productivity
- Full compliance for fuel analysis
Anton Paar’s Jet Fuel Measurement Systems offer the most versatile solution for jet fuel analysis – delivering crucial parameters such as viscosity, density, cloud point, freezing point, and refractive index in a single measurement. These instrument configurations save valuable time for laboratories and companies performing testing and quality control of fuels. Thanks to low sample and solvent volume – as well as energy consumption – operational costs are also kept to a minimum, making the Jet Fuel Measurement Systems the best solution on the market at a competitive price.

Key features
Time-saving multiparameter measurement for jet fuel samples
The Jet Fuel Measurement Systems maximize the efficiency of your lab by covering multiple parameters with just one measuring cycle – reducing workload and enhancing your daily throughput. Viscosity, density, cloud point, freezing point, and refractive index are determined simultaneously, eliminating the need for separate instruments and consecutive measurements.

Fast return on investment
Temperature control with Peltier technology enables viscosity measurements down to -20 °C with no counter-cooling necessary – reducing operational expenses and cost per sample, while saving energy and lab space. Disposal costs are also reduced, thanks to the minimal sample (up to 12.5 mL) and solvent required. Automation with an Xsample 530 sample changer reduces human error and frees up the operator to perform other tasks, leading to increased productivity. Fully automated measurements can also be performed overnight and during weekends.

Compliance is the key
The Jet Fuel Measurement Systems are compliant with all international standards and product specifications. Viscosity and density are measured according to ASTM D7042, D4052, and D6448, while the refractive index measurement complies with ASTM D1218. Density value temperature and pressure corrections are based on ASTM D1250. The system also calculates the viscosity-gravity constant (VCG) per ASTM D2501 and estimates mean relative molecular mass in accordance with ASTM D2502 – enabling determination of carbon-type composition (ASTM D2140) and carbon distribution (ASTM D3238), respectively.

Measure more than just jet fuels
The Jet Fuel Measurement Systems let you measure a wide variety of samples – including diesel as well as additives such as fuel system icing inhibitors (ASTM D5006) or AdBlue (ISO 22241). Parameters such as viscosity, density, refractive index, freezing point, and cloud point are measured across a broad temperature range. In contrast to glass capillary systems, no time-consuming trial and error is required to establish the correct capillary when measuring samples with unknown viscosity.

Fast setup, easy handling, and low maintenance
Thanks to the systems’ intuitive software, you have all the parameters you need right at your fingertips – with minimal effort required for installation and operation. All relevant calculations are performed automatically by an integrated PC. The highly robust metal measuring cell of the viscometer, and the measuring prism of the refractometer, can be accessed tool-free, enabling convenient and fast cleaning.
