Anton Paar UAE is expanding its coverage to Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar and seeks an experienced Sales Department Manager – Business Unit Characterization. Based in Al Bateen, Abu Dhabi, you’ll lead a small UAE team and personally drive regional growth across selected GCC markets within Anton Paar’s Characterization and Solutions portfolio.

Responsibilities:

Anton Paar Scientific Instruments – L.L.C – S.P.C (Anton Paar UAE) is part of the multinational Anton Paar Group and is responsible for the sales and service of highly accurate laboratory instruments and process measuring systems in the United Arab Emirates. As part of our ongoing development, Anton Paar UAE is extending its territorial coverage to include selected GCC markets – specifically Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sales Department Manager – Business Unit Characterization to lead our Characterization and selected Solutions sales activities across the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar. This position carries overall responsibility for achieving the regional sales budget across these four countries. While the UAE sales team continues to focus primarily on the domestic market, the Sales Department Manager will personally drive business development and direct sales in Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar.

Based in Al Bateen, Abu Dhabi, this position combines team leadership with hands-on regional sales execution. The role covers a comprehensive range of Characterization and Analytical product lines, including:

  • Material Characterization
  • Mechanical Surface Characterization
  • Particle Analysis & Surface Charge
  • Rheometry
  • Surface Area & Pores
  • Texture Analysis and Extrusion
  • Thermal Analysis
  • Automation & Robotics

Candidates with proven GCC market experience – particularly those familiar with the customer landscape and business culture of Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar – are strongly preferred. Proficiency in Arabic is highly advantageous due to the nature of regional customer engagement. Prior management experience in a technical sales environment is essential, and international applicants are welcome where relocation to the UAE is feasible.

  • Lead and motivate a small UAE-based Characterization sales team to achieve targets and uphold Anton Paar’s standards.
  • Take overall responsibility for the regional sales budget across the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar.
  • Personally manage business development and direct sales in Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar, focusing on new opportunities and re-engagement with existing customers from the former distribution partner.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring consistent technical and commercial support.
  • Prepare accurate quotations and proposals, manage pipelines, and follow up to secure new business.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, installations, and customer training across assigned territories.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Anton Paar’s Characterization and selected Solutions portfolios.
  • Coordinate application-related support and specialized expertise with Anton Paar headquarters to address complex customer requirements.
  • Ensure data accuracy and reporting discipline within SAP CRM; provide regular sales forecasts and market insights to management.
  • Drive continuous improvement in sales performance, customer experience, and operational efficiency.

Your profile:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field; a master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical sales of laboratory or analytical instruments; management experience is essential.
  • Proven understanding of Characterization and Analytical techniques, including rheology, particle analysis, thermal analysis, and related technologies.
  • Demonstrated success leading a sales team in a multinational or regional organization.
  • GCC market experience strongly preferred, particularly in Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar.
  • Proficiency in Arabic highly advantageous for regional customer engagement.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Hands-on approach and willingness to perform demonstrations, installations, and customer training when required.
  • Willingness to travel regionally (approximately 25-40%).
