Anton Paar, a world leader in laboratory and process instrumentation and services, offers an exciting opportunity for a driven Sales and Service Manager to take our New Zealand organisation to the next level. Reporting to the General Manager based in Australia the Sales and Service Manager is responsible for leading the sales and service team with a strong focus on driving business growth across New Zealand.

Responsibilities:

The Sales and Service Manager

  • is responsible for achieving the revenue targets for Anton Paar’s product portfolio and develops and implements sales and service plans to achieve these goals

  • will have own sales responsibility for selected product lines and will act as a key account manager for important customers or industries.

  • defines and implements the local service strategy, in line with Anton Paar’s global service strategy and policies

  • manages the process and execution of maintenance contract-selling to customers
  • ensures that all employees are properly trained and equipped to excel in their respective roles

  • must have the ability to lead, motivate and develop the team in achieving corporate growth objectives. This is a key requirement of the role and candidates will need to demonstrate their skills and experience in this area.

  • is responsible for managing the product portfolio for the local market including demonstration equipment and service part

  • works closely with the marketing team in Australia to provide input for the creation of marketing plans

  • will be an experienced practitioner in the use of CRM systems with the necessary focus and attention to detail to ensure effective CRM management by the team members

Your profile:

  • Educated to degree level in chemistry, physics, engineering or a related science discipline.

  • In depth understanding of laboratory and process technology with a successful track record of selling into a wide range of industries including food & beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical and petroleum as well as universities and research facilities.

  • At least 3 years sales management experience with a demonstrable track record of leading, motivating and coaching a team to achieve success. 

  • Able to manage and network effectively with key accounts and special interest groups in key industries.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong negotiating skills and the ability to interact effectively with customers at all levels of an organization.

  • Self-starting, resilient under pressure and able to work independently displaying strong planning and organisational skills.

  • Strong IT literacy including use of MS Office software and CRM systems is essential

  • The role requires regular local travel to carry out own sales activities and to support the team. 

  • Occasional overseas travel is required to Australia during the year.

  • The sales and service manager must have valid working rights for New Zealand, reside in Auckland and possess a clean driving license.
