Anton Paar TriTec SA specializes in the manufacturing and sales of laboratory instruments. To strengthen our R&D team in Corcelles NE, Switzerland, we are currently looking for an R&D Business Area Manager (m,f).

Responsibilities:

Anton Paar TriTec is seeking an R&D Business Area Manager to lead our research and development activities in the field of mechanical surface characterization instruments. You will play a key role in managing development projects, from instrument design to market launch, while ensuring effective synergy with other departments (production, quality, marketing, etc.). This strategic position is essential to support the company’s growth and innovation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Development: Define and implement the R&D strategy in collaboration with the general manager and product managers to meet the company’s business objectives.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor and inspire the R&D team of hardware, software, mechanical, electronic and firmware specialists. Foster their professional growth and engagement.
  • Project Supervision: Oversee all instrument development projects from design to delivery, ensuring compliance with timelines, budgets and quality standards.
  • Product Innovation: Identify and integrate new technologies to maintain product competitiveness and provide innovative solutions for our clients.
  • Cross-Department Coordination: Work closely with production, quality, product management, engineering and customer support departments to ensure project feasibility and product-market alignment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of development processes to boost team efficiency and product quality.
  • Financial Management: Supervise the department’s budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and budget compliance.
  • Advisory Role: Collaborate with a System Architect who will provide technical expertise on complex issues while ensuring gradual knowledge transfer.

Your profile:

  • Technical Experience: At least 10 years of experience in R&D, focused on developing measuring instruments, complex systems or industrial equipment.
  • Leadership: Proven track record managing multidisciplinary teams (software, hardware, mechanics) and large-scale R&D projects.
  • Engineering Skills: Strong expertise in developing measuring instruments (mechanical, electronic, embedded software). Solid understanding of innovation and industrialization processes for technical products.
  • Project Management: Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities and coordinate technical teams in an international environment.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communicator, capable of motivating and uniting teams around projects. Comfortable working cross-functionally with management, commercial teams and customers.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to anticipate market trends and propose innovative technological solutions.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; the ability to understand and express yourself clearly in French is essential. Knowledge of German is considered an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the field of measuring instruments or surface characterization is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge of ISO certifications (ISO 9001) and quality management.
