Structure and surface characterization of porous membranes

This webinar focuses on the characterization of porous materials, in particular porous membranes. In the course of the webinar, we will cover the theoretical aspects of different analytical methods and discuss selected applications. You will also get insights into the right instrument selection for characterizing nano- and microporous materials.

Featured topics will include:

  • How to characterize pit arrays on PDMS membranes used for fabrication of functional thin films with atomic force microscopy
  • How to determine various properties and effects of flat sheet and hollow fiber polymer membranes with surface charge analysis, including fouling and the effect of membrane cleaning
  • Structural analysis of nano-porous membranes used in e.g. modern energy storage devices by grazing-incidence X-ray scattering (GISAXS)
