Aquadyne Water Vapor Sorption by Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients
Characterization and control of physical properties of pharmaceutical ingredients (API’s) and their inactive carriers and fillers (excipients) is of critical importance in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of pharmaceuticals. The rate of adsorption of water is indicative of the potential shelf life and the rate of assimilation into the body. Here we show a method of characterizing the water sorption properties of pharmaceutical materials using a “fingerprinting” technique.
