Backstage: Kindergarten

"Elementary education is more than just a job for me – it’s a daily opportunity to create for the children a world full of curiosity and happiness. Together, we experience small and big learning adventures, opening our hearts, and shaping the future."

Nadja, Head of Kindergarten | Anton Paar GmbH

In our company kindergarten and our company nursery, every day is a new adventure. We look after around 80 children aged one to six, in five groups. This diversity of little personalities makes every day a unique voyage full of discovery and learning.

A daily challenge in our profession is to be flexible and attend to the needs of the children while at the same time fulfilling the educational mandate. Our team is trained to understand the individual needs of the children and to make available a space in which they can grow and learn.  For our work with children, empathy, patience and creativity are key. A well-founded understanding of child development and pedagogical development form the basis. Additionally, good communication skills and the ability to work in a team are vital, in order to create a supportive environment. We also place great value on allowing each colleague to contribute their individual competences to the everyday work. This collaboration influences not just our internal dynamic but also mirrors the values we transmit in our educational partnership with the children.

Anton Paar made me a perfect offer for my entry into the working world, where I’m able to use the competencies of my second career as a media designer in the domain of elementary pedagogy. As the administrative assistant of the kindergarten and nursery management I was able from the start to contribute my IT and media skills. Organizing, planning, structuring and adjusting the processes, in addition to my work as an elementary educator, became an ever-greater passion, which is why in 2023 I took over the entire management of the kindergarten and nursery, thereby optimally linking the skillsets from both my career paths. The best thing about the job of elementary educator is being a key component of a special period in the lives of children. I love exchanging thoughts with the children about their interests and like to allow myself to be infected by their energy and imagination. When the end of the year comes and I shed some tears over the departure of the schoolchildren, I know I am in the right place.
