Supporting Hands-On Education

In mid-June, LDC Product Line Manager Wolfgang Baumgartner and HR Business Partner Sebastian Pixner, on behalf of Anton Paar GmbH, handed over two measuring instruments to the Chemistry Academy in Graz – a DMA 35 and a DMA 1001. Both instruments will now be used in laboratory classes. The handover took place at the Academy’s newly opened, state-of-the-art facility, which the school moved into in 2024.

A strong educational partnership
The Chemistry Academy is a private educational institution that has been operating since 1962. It offers a “College for Chemistry” as well as a “Master School for Technical Chemistry and Environmental Studies.” The long-standing partnership with Anton Paar GmbH is based on continuous professional exchange. Several Anton Paar employees are also involved as instructors at the college.

“To attract the best talents in Styria early on, Anton Paar GmbH actively partners with schools, universities, and other educational institutions,” says Wolfgang Baumgartner. “By donating instruments, students get to know our technologies during their training – this strengthens our recruiting and builds long-term connections,” adds Sebastian Pixner.

Training with Anton Paar technologies
Using the two sponsored density meters, students will analyze food products and various oils as part of their lab work. The Academy also integrates other Anton Paar instruments into the curriculum – such as a Monowave or an Abbemat.
In the past, the Academy has also received support through summer internships and supervision of final theses. One standout example of this collaboration is the thesis by Amanda Szöcs, which focused on the analysis of non-alcoholic wines.

This summer, two more students from the “College of Chemistry” are supporting the LDC product line – further demonstrating the strong partnership between Anton Paar and the Chemistry Academy.
