Testing prefilled syringes is important to guarantee the optimal administration of a drug. This special holder for syringe testing allows users to fix syringes of 6 mm to 22 mm in diameter and containing various volumes. Glide forces and break-away forces of the prefilled syringes can be easily measured with high accuracy and reproducibility. And you’re not restricted to syringe tests: You can upgrade your UTM Micro to a full rheometer, tribometer, or DMA.

Glide force of prefilled syringes according to ISO 11040

This holder allows users to perform glide force tests to evaluate syringe lubrication, as specified in ISO 11040, Annex E. Break-away forces can also be measured, and recorded via the RheoCompass application software.

Forces for piston movement according to ISO 7886-1

The syringe test holder is used to squeeze water out of the syringe, while the force required to move the piston is recorded according to the ISO 7886-1 standard. The set-up consists of the height-adjustable syringe clamp, as well as a stand for a fluid reservoir to collect the squeezed-out sample. The DIN ISO 7886-1 standard is also referenced in USP<382> and USP<1382>.
