Workshop on Nano Particle Characterization by Dynamic Light Scattering

Nanoparticles have shown immense potential in array of industrial sectors and hence the characterization of their intrinsic properties viz., size, charge and stability are of utmost importance. Light scattering offers a quick, easy and non-invasive technique for these measurements. On one hand, Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) measures the average size and polydispersity index of nanoparticle emulsions; the Electrophoretic Light Scattering (ELS) assesses the zeta potential measurement to govern their stability.

In this workshop, you will learn about the basics of these light scattering approaches along with data interpretation, validity of methods and their use in different industrial applications.

Richard Barna works as application specialist for particle analysis and surface charge at Anton Paar GmbH. He studied Chemical Engineering at the Technical University of Budapest, Hungary and earned an MSc in Material Sciences at the Technical University of Vienna, Austria before joining Anton Paar.
