Characterization of Polyester Fiber Preparation

After spinning, synthetic fibers are treated with preparation agents based on surface-active substances to assure textilous processibility. Reliable characterization of these preparation agents is hardly possible so far and therefore the actual "processibility" of these fibers can be detected only via experimental test on textile processing machines. Information subject to the kind and binding of preparation agents on polyester fibbers as well as on the adhesive behavior of fibers (which largely effects their processibility) was the goal of this study.
