Foam Alone: How to Generate and Analyze Foams in the Powder Flow Cell.

Foam, Surfactant, Foam Stability, Foam Texture, Rheology, Powder flow cell

An Anton Paar MCR rheometer equipped with a powder flow cell can be used to create foam from liquid surfactants by air injection. The foam generation is tunable by controlling the air rate during injection. The high sensitivity of the rheometer in small amplitude oscillatory measurements allows to study the texture without destroying the sample. A coupled optic device correlates the mechanical testing with image analysis.
