Understanding ASTM D7042 – Accuracy, Bias & Global Acceptance

Can your SVM Series results be confidently used for quality control — or is ASTM D445 still required?
Can you fully trust ASTM D7042 results for specifications and compliance?

Join our expert-led webinar to explore how ASTM D7042 has evolved into the modern alternative to D445 — and how Anton Paar’s SVM Series ensures accurate, compliant, and future-ready viscosity measurements.

Why Attend?

Many laboratories still rely on ASTM D445 — but D7042 was developed to overcome its key limitations. In this 30 minutes session, we break down the technical differences, address common concerns about bias and precision, and explain how integrated bias correction in the SVM Series ensures confidence in your results.

Whether you're evaluating a transition from glass capillaries or validating D7042 performance internally, this webinar will provide the clarity you need.

Agenda:

  • ASTM D7042 – Principle & Key Features: Core message: D7042 is the modern alternative to D445, addressing and overcoming its key limitations.
  • Bias: D7042 vs. D445: Including explanation of SVM’s integrated bias correction feature.
  • Precision: D7042 vs. D445: Precision comparison, quantification of the bias-to-precision ratio, and guidance on when a bias correction should be applied.
  • Global Compliance: Overview of worldwide standards and specifications accepting D7042, with outlook on further adoptions.
  • Ongoing ASTM PTP Monitoring: Highlighting the continuous real-world performance evaluation of D7042 across sample types and temperatures - giving customers confidence in long-term reliability.
  • Q&A Session
