Multiparameter Analyzing System:
- Multiparameter measurement for lubricant samples
- Maximum cost efficiency and productivity
- Full compliance in lubricant analysis
Modulyzer Oil is the most powerful solution for lubricant analysis, providing the crucial parameters viscosity, density, and refractive index, as well as viscosity index and carbon-type analysis, with one single setup. This instrument configuration is a real time saver for laboratories and companies dealing with quality control of various lubricants. Additionally, thanks to the low sample and solvent volume and energy consumption, operational costs are reduced to a minimum. Results are obtained within just 5 minutes – a huge productivity increase over traditional systems.
Time-saving multiparameter measurement for lubricant samples
Anton Paar’s Modulyzer Oil provides several crucial quality control parameters with only one measurement, increasing the efficiency of your lab, reducing workload, and enabling you to measure more samples per day. Laboratories and companies dealing with quality control of various lubricants get quick results, based on their specific requirements, with only one measuring cycle. Viscosity, density, and refractive index are simultaneously measured, while viscosity index, carbon-type composition of insulating oils (ASTM D2140), or carbon distribution of petroleum oils (ASTM D3238) are automatically calculated – all from one syringe in one setup.
Highest cost efficiency and productivity
The small measurement cells of Modulyzer Oil require very little sample (up to 12.5 mL) and solvent, resulting in minimum disposal costs. Temperature control is performed with Peltier technology and consumes little energy – meaning less cost per sample. The high degree of automation with an Xsample 530 sample changer increases productivity, reduces the potential for human error, and frees up the operator to perform other tasks. Modulyzer Oil also enables measurements overnight and during weekends.
Compliance is key in lubricant analysis
Modulyzer Oil complies with all international standards and product specifications. Viscosity and density are measured according to ASTM D7042 and D4052, while the refractive index measurement complies to ASTM D1218.
Calculation of the viscosity-gravity constant (VCG) according to ASTM D2501 and estimation of mean relative molecular mass compliant to ASTM D2502 enable determination of carbon-type composition (ASTM D2140) and carbon distribution (ASTM D3238), respectively.
Utmost flexibility matched with sample variety
Modulyzer Oil comes with a wide measuring range for viscosity, density, temperature, and refractive index. It enables measurements of a wide variety of oils and lubricants, such as mineral, engine, process, insulating, cosmetic, and medicinal grade white oils, without the need for various capillaries, baths or instruments. The setup’s flexibility also ensures no waste of time when measuring samples with unknown viscosity, as no trial and error approach is required to establish the correct capillary size.
Easy handling and low maintenance with clever instrument setup
All steps, from the installation to the operation of Modulyzer Oil, are incredibly easy. The software is intuitive and shows you all the required parameters right at your fingertips . Calculations are performed automatically by the integrated PC. The viscometers’ metal measuring cell and the measuring prism of the refractometer are very robust and can be accessed without the need for tools, allowing for convenient cleaning.
