Quantitative analysis using a Cora 5X00 Raman spectrometer
Introduction
Raman spectroscopy provides a unique chemical fingerprint of a substance so that even very similar substances such as glucose and fructose, two different sugars, can be distinguished. Furthermore, quantifying the amount of these sugars in a mixture is easily achievable by using a training set with which a calibration curve is established prior to determining the content of the mixture. By employing a chemometric model the relative amounts of glucose and fructose present in a soft drink can be determined.
