The international Anton Paar Research Prize recognizes outstanding research projects in the fields of instrumental analysis and characterization. It was awarded for the second time. The winning team from the Graz University of Technology can look forward to a prize money of € 20,000. Their work is concerned with continuous flow calorimetry for highly reactive substances.

"We are very happy about this award. In the field of research, and especially in such a special field, there is often a lack of money to be able to do even more. This makes it all the more important that companies like Anton Paar rewards research work," says Manuel Maier from the successful research team.

International Research Prize
A top-class jury of five judged the 19 submitted research projects from 14 different countries. Last year, a group of researchers from Finland won the prize, and this year a team from Graz, Austria, was able to convince the jury. "Here in Styria, we have many excellent universities which advance research and development. Our company would also not be as successful as it is if we did not constantly invest in research and development," explains Friedrich Santner, CEO of Anton Paar GmbH.

Last year, Anton Paar GmbH reinvested 16 % of its turnover in research and development, which is well above the average for Austrian companies.
