Material Brief: Water Sorption of an Activated Carbon - VSTAR

Activated carbon was analyzed using water adsorption on the VSTAR.

An important property of activated carbon, particularly when used for water purification or in other applications where humidity is present, is its water sorption capacity. In addition, the relative hydrophobicity of different materials can be determined by comparison of water sorption isotherms. The VSTAR was used to measure the water sorption isotherm on an activated carbon used for water filtration applications.
