Advanced Surface Characterization Techniques: Glass Industry
This webinar focuses on one of the most important Consumer sectors for mechanical surface testing instruments: The Glass industry.
Glass is a solid-like, often transparent material that is used in numerous applications in our daily lives. Glass is a unique and extremely versatile material that can be engineered to exhibit its exceptional engineering properties like transparency, strength, workability and thermal transmittance.
The glass industries comprise 3 main segments: container glass, flat glass, glass fiber.
In the glass industry, there are 4 major types of customer pains:
- Mechanical surface resistance: I want to precisely characterize the glass property of resisting external force.
- Homogeneity of mechanical properties: I need to know if our glass surfaces have homogeneous mechanical properties through their thickness.
- Coating adhesion: I want to make sure that the coating adheres well on the glass surface.
- Friction properties: I need to measure friction at room and elevated temperature.
You will learn the details of our solutions for each of the above-mentioned customer pain in This webinar.
Dr. Chintan M. Bhatt obtained his Ph.D. degree in Instrumentation and Applied Physics from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, having more than 10 years of experience leading global projects in the field of measurement and instrumentation technology for characterisation of material. He has co-authored 14 research papers in International Journals and Conferences. He has a vast experience in conducting workshops and user trainings, providing extensive knowledge about nano-surface property characterisation. Dr. Bhatt is currently working as the National Product Line manager for material characterisation (Surface property characterisation group) at Anton Paar India.
