High-temperature X-ray diffraction - To the limits and beyond

Among all the parameters in non-ambient X-ray diffraction (XRD), temperature is the most prominent and most frequently investigated. Temperature has a strong influence on the structure of (crystalline) materials and their related material properties. A combined study using X-ray diffraction with a suitable high-temperature attachment allows in situ studies on structural changes under varying, elevated temperatures.
In this webinar, we will explain the different types of heater design and discuss the benefits and drawbacks of each. We will underline the versatility of high-temperature XRD with application examples from the fields of mineralogy, metallurgy, and MOFs, and many others.

Barbara Puhr

Dr. Barbara Puhr obtained her PhD in Earth Sciences from the University of Graz, with a focus in petrology and geochemistry. Following a post-doctoral fellowship and some years of experience in X-ray diffraction in an industrial R&D facility, she joined Anton Paar in July 2014 and currently works as the product manager for Non-Ambient X-ray attachments.
