This workshop is for those who are interested to learn more about the various aspects of porous material characterization including experimental, theoretical and molecular simulation methods to study structural, adsorption, wetting and transport properties of various classes of porous solids. Techniques used to characterize particles, colloids and powders in the nano-sized range will also be introduced.

Dr. Francisco Sotomayor is Product Manager for Anton Paar's specialty gas sorption instruments under the Quantachrome Instrument Brand. He travels extensively providing worldwide support on specialized gas sorption topics, including: advanced physisorption techniques, vapor sorption, chemisorption, and high pressure analyses.
Prior to becoming product manager, Dr. Sotomayor was an application scientist within Quantachrome Instrument's scientific team, where he was involved in worldwide application support, customer training, as well as collaborative research projects with academia and industry. Dr. Sotomayor obtained his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2016 and was an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education Fellow at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Dr. Herman Teo Herman is the Application Specialist for Anton Paar Singapore Pte Ltd. He obtained his Bachelor and doctorate from Nanyang Technological University Singapore in Materials Engineering. Herman has over seven years’ experience in customer technical sales and marketing support for a wide range of particle characterization solutions in many industries.
He is currently responsible for supporting customers in particle characterization and other Anton Paar solutions, and is a regional trainer for the Asia Pacific Technical Centre in Kuala Lumpur.
