Density Measurement: An officially recognized method for alcohol determination
An officially recognized method to determine the alcohol concentration is to measure the density and subsequently convert it into the alcohol concentration using official alcohol tables. Digital density meters are accepted instruments and provide highly accurate results in as little as 2 to 5 minutes using just 1 mL of sample volume.
Anton Paar DMA™ M density meters DMA™ 4100 M, DMA™ 4500 M and DMA™ 5000 M determine the alcohol concentration of ethanol/water mixtures in the range of 0 %v/v to 100 %v/v or 0 %w/w to 100 %w/w. Various alcohol tables such as OIML, AOAC, IUPAC, KAEMPF, etc., are integrated in the standard software of most instruments.
