Modulyzer Sugar is a powerful sugar analysis system for sugar factories. It is used for quality control of sugar cane as part of payment analysis or as an extended laboratory system for multiple methods of sample preparation and chemical factory control. Independent of the clarifying agent, all kinds of samples can be checked for their sugar content. Combining an MCP Sucromat and an Abbemat refractometer, the Modulyzer Sugar system offers advanced possibilities in addition to each of these instruments’ individual features.

Key features

Automatic and efficient purity analysis of sugar products

Automatic and efficient purity analysis of sugar products

The combination of Anton Paar’s MCP Sucromat sugar polarimeter and Abbemat refractometer creates a powerful sugar analysis system, substantially increasing the performance of your sugar factory. The raw, intermediate, and final products of sugar manufacturing can be checked for sugar content (Pol, °Z), dry substance (°Brix), and apparent purity (%) – all in one cycle. They are density-corrected according to the Schmitz table.

Effortlessly manage the measurement results of your laboratory instruments with Anton Paar’s AP Connect lab execution software. It allows a direct view of your results on your PC or in your LIMS system and helps you to make the right decisions. Save precious time and benefit from automatic data transfer.

Full compliance to ICUMSA

Full compliance to ICUMSA

The Modulyzer Sugar system complies with the official ICUMSA methods as well as further national and international standards (e.g. OIML and Australian standard K157). Established methods with and without temperature correction – depending on the application – for sugar content measurements are integrated by default. Additionally, for temperature-controlled measurements, Anton Paar offers Peltier temperature control to provide homogeneous and fast temperature equilibrium. The Modulyzer Sugar system covers all requirements needed for the analysis of sugar cane juice by reception labs as well as various analysis tasks in quality control.

2 instruments,1 interface: fast and smooth measurements

Handling the Modulyzer Sugar is easy: When connected, both instruments can be operated by the MCP Sucromat’s big touchscreen, collecting all data in one report. Samples such as sugar cane juice can be measured by simply pouring them into a filling funnel, enabling a smooth workflow and a high throughput. For sugar content measurements with samples clarified without lead and therefore appearing darker than samples clarified with lead, MCP Sucromat models can be equipped with the second official ICUMSA wavelength of 880 nm – upgraded on-site or already purchased as dual-wavelength saccharimeters.

Sturdy setup for reliable results and a long instrument life

Sturdy setup for reliable results and a long instrument life

Neither humidity and temperature, nor vibrations, will influence sugar content measurements performed with the robust Modulyzer Sugar system, as sensitive optical and electronic components are located in a sealed housing, resistant to dust and spillage. To ensure durability, there are no moving parts inside the instruments. Long-life LED light sources, which remain maintenance-free for 100,000 hours, reduce instrument downtime to a minimum.
