Powder Characterization Boot Camp (TX)

Powders are everywhere and understanding how they behave during storage, processing, and end use can be challenging.

This five-day workshop is designed to introduce characterization techniques specifically for analyzing powders. The workshops are divided into five sections from which attendees can choose to attend as many as would be beneficial. 

The techniques to be covered are:

• Day 1: Particle Size Analysis with Laser Diffraction (LD) and Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) and Zeta Potential with Electrophoretic Light Scattering (ELS) and Streaming Potential 
• Day 2: Pore Size, BET Surface Area and Pore Size, and Skeletal Density of Powders
• Day 3: Flow Properties of Powders with Powder Rheology under Fluidized Conditions
• Day 4: Shear Properties of Powders with Powder Rheology under High Load Conditions
• Day 5: Crystalline Phase Identification and Structural Analysis of Powders with XRD

Those who will benefit from the workshops include chemists and engineers, laboratory technicians and managers, professors and graduate students, R&D and formulation scientists, quality managers, process control managers, and all others who need to better understand how the powders involved in their work behave.
