Giving It Its Best Shot: Characterizing Antiviral Vaccines and Surface Charge of Syringes

 

The particle size of an antiviral vaccine has a significant impact on its immunogenicity as well as on its shelf-life. Within this webinar you will learn how Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) measurements with the Litesizer series can quickly and efficiently determine the particle size of inactivated virus particles, and of an aluminum salt adjuvant. We also show that simulated cold chain disruptions (heat treatment, freeze-thawing) induce significant changes in the particle size distribution. 

For a complete characterization of a medical product also the packaging has to be considered. You will further learn how measurements of the streaming potential with SurPASS 3 can be used to characterize the inner surface of pre-filled syringes, and how this knowledge can be used to study interactions between the active drug itself and the packaging material.
