Fits Like a Glove: Particle Characterization for Latex Glove Production

Fits Like a Glove: Particle Characterization for Latex Glove Production

Latex gloves are one of the most important safety items , not only to protect health personnel, but also each and every one of us during our daily work with different substances. They must be resistant to microorganisms as well as chemicals without foregoing sensitiveness for accurate working, which can only be achieved by proper characterization during production. There are many factors affecting the chemical and mechanical properties of latex gloves, e.g. the type of mold, the latex compound. However, also the zeta potential and the particle size of latex particles are two critical parameters to guarantee highest-quality latex gloves.

Within this webinar you will learn about

  • in which steps of the production process particle size and zeta potential are applied
  • how particle size and zeta potential of latex samples can be determined with the PSA, Litesizer and SurPASS series
  • typical results of particle size measurement on latex particles
  • short comparison between Laser Diffraction (PSA) and Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) technology
