Anton Paar finances a hospice for homeless people

It is society's job to look after those who have had to struggle in life. A donation from Anton Paar enables the first VinziDorf hospice for homeless people to be built in Graz.

“It is not the job of society to increase the luxury of those who already live in plenty but to look after those who have had to struggle in life. We were touched by the idea of the Order of the Sisters of St. Elizabeth in Graz to build a hospice for homeless people so they can be cared for in their last phase of life. A part of the fruits of the labor of our employees will now be used to finance this important project for the common good. We are happy to make this contribution.”
(Maria Santner, Authorized Officer at Anton Paar GmbH)

The matter is close to the hearts of all at the Order of the Sisters of St. Elizabeth in Graz. Now their vision can be realized due to a donation from Anton Paar: On April 5 the first hospice for homeless people in Graz will be opened next to the “VinziDorf”, a place where homeless people can find shelter.

At the end of their life most people want to die in familiar surroundings. That is also true for people who have no home. Homeless people define “home” differently: Companions, shelters, and places where they receive food and can be warm – these become “home”. At the end of their lives, this closeness to companions and familiar places provides important support. People living on the edge of society will be cared for professionally in the last phase of their life at the VinziDorf hospice. In this way, they can remain in contact with their friends.

With the donation from Anton Paar for the construction of the hospice all the company’s employees and business friends have contributed to giving homeless people in Graz the opportunity to prepare for death in a dignified way and to die in familiar surroundings. Many thanks!
