Small and wide-angle X-ray scattering are established laboratory techniques for structure characterization. The combination of X-ray scattering with rheology allows the investigation of the influence of shear on nanostructures. For sufficient time-dependent resolution a synchrotron beam is required. Two Rheo-SAXS/WAXS systems are available for the Physica MCR rheometer: An electrically heated parallel plate system for measurements up to 300 °C and a cylinder system for temperatures up to 200 °C.
