RheoOptics – DORA Dynamic Optical Rheo-Analyzer

The Dynamic Optical Rheo-Analyzer (DORA) enables measurements of flow birefringence and flow dichroism simultaneous to rheological tests. The system uses polarized light to detect optical anisotropy induced by shear and deformation forces. Flow birefringence can occur during the deformation and relaxation of polymers or changes in the orientation of rod-like structures, while flow dichroism is a common phenomenon during shear-induced changes in liquid crystals.
